CONTENTS:Mozarts bekannte c-moll-Fuge liegt in zwei Originalversionen vor: einmal (1783) für 2 Klaviere KV 426, zum Zweiten (1788), eingeleitet durch ein Adagio, für Streichorchester KV 546. Thema und Verarbeitung der Fuge gehen dabei deutlich auf barocke Vorbilder zurück - Mozart kannte die Werke Bachs und Händels gut und schätzte sie sehr. In Klaus Uwe Ludwigs Bearbeitung für Orgel zu 4 Händen (und 4 Füssen!) lässt sich die auf Bach bezogene Polyphonie plastisch darstellen und hörbar nachvollziehen. Die Ausgabe bereichert das spärlich vorhandene Repertoire für diese Besetzung um ein außerordentlich lohnendes Werk.
The subject and development of the C minor Fugue clearly hark back to Baroque models. After all, Mozart was a great fan and connoisseur of the works of Bach and Handel. In his organ arrangement for four hands - and four feet! - , Klaus Uwe Ludwig lets the players mold the Bach-like polyphony with striking immediacy. A highly rewarding contribution to the scarce repertoire for organ duet!
